Balancing Your Sacral Chakra In 6 Simple Steps

There are seven chakras or energy centers in the body. The sacral chakra, also known as Svadhisthana chakra, is the chakra for emotional and sexual energy.

The sacral chakra is the second chakra out of the 7, with its energy center about 2 inches below your belly button.

It is also a root chakra and is seen as a way to help us relate our emotions to the emotions of others.

How Do You Know If You Have An Unbalanced Sacral Chakra?

At one point in time, you have had a blocked sacral chakra. When you have a balanced sacral chakra, you can be described as confident, warm, and generous.

When you have an imbalanced sacral chakra, you can feel:

  • Overwhelmed
  • Depressed
  • Less creativity
  • Emotional unstable

You could be feeling this way because you have an underactive sacral chakra and need it to be unblocked.

What Happens When You Open Sacral chakra?

It is important for your emotional and physical health that you fix any chakra imbalance.

With any energy center and emotional instability, you want to work at keeping everything in order and safe.

How To Get A Balanced Sacral Chakra

Now that you understand what chakra is and how it can affect your life, now you want to know;

How do you balance your sacral chakra?

I have made a list to help you figure out how to re-balance your sacral chakra and work on getting you and your chakra to a better place.

1. Write It Out

Before you start working on the second chakra in the chakra system, it’s a good idea to journal your journey.

Write down how you feel before and after each activity, and look for patterns and differences. This will help track and check if you have an overactive sacral chakra.

2. Yoga And Stretching

The sacral chakra is a root chakra used for grounding and being in the present. What better way to open the second chakra healing than to do yoga poses that help with grounding.

A great one to start with is a butterfly pose with inhaling, holding your breath for 30 seconds, then exhaling. Try this in sets of three.

Any open-hip stretching can work too.

Sacral chakra awakens with flowy and soft dancing as well.

3. Chakra Meditation Techniques

There is meditation, and then there is chakra healing meditation.

It helps if you have something to focus on to get you started, a gemstone to hold, essential oils to place around your belly button, or a mantra that will help with the intent to balance your sacral chakra.

4. Be Mindful Of Your Physical Body

To go along with the others on this list, you want to be mindful and listen to your body.

Be in tune and be present. To balance the sacral chakra in your body, you must understand that the past is the past, and the future is ever-changing.

Sit for a moment and take in all the present’s feelings, smells, and noises. This goes hand in hand with everything on this list.

The sacral chakra is a root chakra, after all. If you don’t want to focus on the present, your sacral chakra can’t be unblocked.

5. Look For The Color Orange

Each chakra has a different color to identify it by. Sacral chakra relates to the color Orange.

When doing sacral chakra healing, it can help when you use stones to focus on when you do the other steps in this list.

Carnelian crystals and Tiger’s eye are good ones to start with.

6. Foods That Open A Blocked Sacral Chakra

This is probably the easiest step. Try to eat more foods that match the chakra healing you are looking for.

Just as sacral chakra is related to the color orange, some foods can be used in sacral chakra healing. Here are some examples to use.

  • Sweet Potato
  • Nuts and Seeds
  • Melons
  • Carrots
  • Pumpkin
  • Mangos
  • Butternut Squash
  • Water infused with orange fruits

To name a few. Did you notice something about the list?

Yep, many of them are orange in color!

This also applies to essential oils. Look for those with orange citrus fruits, nuts, seeds, or even orange packaging.
